lingering INCENSE dispelled by science: meditation as effective as leading anti-depressant
In a surprising study at Johns Hopkins, science dispels the lingering scent of incense revealing that regular meditation is as effective as the leading anti-depressant on the market. And the good news is— meditation’s side-effects are all positive. That means you can dose yourself anytime you need, as increasing the duration and frequency of meditation intensifies the benefits.
Who doesn’t want to live a healthier, more joyful and productive life? But our days are filled with distractions. From the moment we jump out of bed, we leap into each day with little thought to the choices ahead. We can mindlessly live at this anxiety-provoking pace— proven to lead to disease— or we can with each day, practice slowing it down—beginning each day with meditation and throughout the day, pausing for moments of mindfulness. Meditation isn’t the only practice that will lead to a healthier, more joyful and productive life, but I believe it is so foundational— we need to start here. After all, to build a strong home, you first build a strong foundation. So, I’ve released another meditation, this time, with a focus on breath.
In E2 Better Living Meditations - Accessing Breath for Stress Reduction, we’ll combine breath work with gentle neck and shoulder stretches. Breath is our most easily accessed and powerful tool for controlling stress, but perhaps, because of its autonomic nature, it’s not always top of mind. When stressed, our breath is shallow and stilted. When relaxed, it’s deep and measured. And when we thoughtfully access and employ it, the effects are immediate—calming our bodies, our minds and our spirits. Listen now On Spotify or watch on YouTube.
