Meditation isn’t the only practice that will lead to a healthier, more joyful and productive life, but I believe it so foundational to the work we can do through coaching— we need to start here. When we want to get crystal clear on where we want to go next, meditate is the first step to tuning out distractions and tuning in to our own minds and bodies. Regular practice builds an inner core of calm confidence and when outside forces threaten to tetter us off the path we’ve chosen—which they always do— we can return again and again to this unshakable foundation and restore focus. The calm you develop through meditation can then be applied to Mindfulness during your daily activities. When things don’t go as planned, or you feel your body beginning to respond to the stressors around you, pause and take three deep breaths to calm your body and restore control.
